Removing a Rackmounted Autoloader (if necessary)
WARNING Before you remove the autoloader from a rack, lower the rack's leveler feet, and extend the rack's anti-tip device. Failure to extend the anti-tip device could result in personal injury or damage to the tape autoloader if the rack tips over.
AVERTISSEMENT

Removing the Autoloader from a Rack
To remove the autoloader from a rack, do the following: 1. Release the filler panel (and/or trim bracket) from the spacer bracket by releasing the screws from the clip nuts located at the front of the autoloader (see Figure 1-2). 2. Using two people or an appropriately rated lift, remove the autoloader by gently sliding it toward the front of the rack. 3. Place the autoloader on a stable surface in preparation for upgrade. Removing the Trim Bracket and Filler Panel
It is not necessary to remove the trim bracket and filler panel in order to upgrade your autoloader, however, it is necessary if you are returning the autoloader. To remove the trim bracket and filler panel, do the following: 1. Remove the trim bracket from the right side of the autoloader by lifting up gently on the bracket until it separates from the autoloader. Guide pins keep the bracket in place (see Figure 1-3). 2. Remove the filler panel or trim bracket from the left side by gently lifting up on the panel until it separates from the autoloader. Guide pins keep the panel in place (see Figure 1-3). Removing the Standalone Cosmetic Cover
If the autoloader is not rackmounted and has a cosmetic cover, to remove the cover, do the following: CAUTION This autoloader contains very sensitive elctronic components. It is important to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD). Use wrist grounding straps and anti-static mats when removing and replacing cards and internal assemplies. 1. Remove the four T-15 screws (see Figure 1-4). 2. Lift the autoloader cover off by easing the sides out and lifting it up from the chassis. 3. The autoloader is now ready for upgrading (see "Upgrading the Autoloader from DLT to Ultrium" on page 2-9). Figure 1-4 Removing the Standalone Cosmetic Cover
