This addendum supplements the Phaser 540 Drivers and Utilities Printing Reference (070-9009-00). In most cases, the information contained in the Phaser 540 Drivers and Utilities Printing Reference is applicable for use with Phaser 540 Plus color printers. Phaser 540 Plus printer driver differences are detailed in this addendum. The Phaser 540 Plus drivers and utilities provide support for the following new printer features: s s Legal-size printing capability A new Presentation print-quality mode Printing Reference Addendum 1 Phaser 540 Plus General differences s The default printer name that appears in dialog boxes and windows changes to Phaser 540 Plus. A Presentation print-quality mode has been added for creating presentation materials such as overhead transparencies and presentation handouts with a color sweep in the background. The Presentation print-quality mode appears as a front panel selection, a driver selection, and a downloadable utility. Macintosh utility Macintosh QuickDraw GX Printer utility PC Windows utility s Presentation Quality Use Presentation Quality PRESENTN. PS s The default print-quality mode for the printer changes to Fast. The default print-quality mode for the drivers remains Standard. This provides faster throughput when selecting Fast mode from the driver. When you select a print-quality mode, printer output is dependent on the amount of installed memory and the paper size. For example, if the printer has 20 Mbytes of memory and you select Enhanced for Letter-size paper, the printer uses the Standard print-quality mode. Refer to the following table for details...
